June Jam 2025: Griffin’s Biggest Beach Party Took Over Downtown

If you felt a sea breeze in Downtown Griffin on June 14, 2025, you weren’t imagining it – June Jam returned and turned Solomon Street into a sandy shoreline for an all-day beach party from 3–10 PM at Imperial Theatre Park. Families, friends, and visitors packed the street for music, games, food trucks, and a full-on summer vibe in the heart of our city.

A Street of Sand, Music, and Pure Summer Fun

June Jam isn’t your average block party. Organizers hauled in 100+ tons of sand to create a playful beach right on Solomon Street – complete with free beach games, room for sandcastles, and plenty of lounge time between sets. The music kicked off with DJ Tonic in the afternoon, building to a breezy evening headliner: Michael Stacey’s “Margaritaville,” a Jimmy Buffett tribute that had the crowd singing along from the first strum at 6 PM.

VIP Tables, Theme Contest, and Community Spirit

This year featured a fun way to gather your crew: VIP tables (a fundraiser for the Griffin Downtown Council) with reserved seating for eight from 5–10 PM. The “Margaritaville” décor theme inspired everything from parrot centerpieces to island-style table settings, with prizes for the best designs. Funds raised help support free downtown events all year long – a win for your party and for the community.

Getting Around (And Dancing All Night)

Event planners made it easy to enjoy the day: free public parking was available on Hill, Broad, and West Solomon, with temporary street closures on South 6th (Bank to Solomon) and Solomon (Hill to South 6th). The Solomon Street parking deck served as the rain-plan location, so the show could go on no matter the forecast.

Part of Griffin’s 2nd Saturday Tradition

June Jam is a signature stop in the City of Griffin’s 2nd Saturday event series, produced in partnership with the Griffin Downtown Council and the Griffin Main Street Program. These free, family-friendly gatherings keep downtown buzzing each month with themes, live music, and specials from local shops and restaurants. In 2025, the June edition was presented by the Griffin+Spalding Business & Tourism Association.

Why June Jam Hits Different

  • A real beach on Solomon Street (yes, actual sand!)
  • Live music all day
