2025 Ice Cream Stroll Sweetens Downtown Griffin

Downtown Griffin dished up summer happiness on Saturday, August 9, 2025, with the annual Ice Cream Stroll, part of the City’s monthly 2nd Saturday series. Visitors flowed into the historic district for scoops, shop specials, games, and an evening concert—proof that Griffin knows how to beat the heat in style.

How the Day Unfolded

Shops opened with morning-to-afternoon specials and family-friendly activities, then the tasting portion of the Stroll kicked off mid-afternoon as crowds grabbed event maps and set out to sample flavors at multiple downtown stops. The format mirrors previous years—roam, taste, and find your favorites—making it easy to explore businesses block by block.

Flavors, Fun, and Local Love

The Stroll spotlighted downtown merchants and makers, inviting guests to try unique spins on classic summer treats while popping into boutiques and cafés along the route. It’s part tasting tour, part shop-local celebration—and a perfect excuse to discover new storefronts you might have missed. (griffinchamber.com)

A Concert to Close It Out

As the sun went down, the party kept going with a free outdoor concert featuring the Goodwood Band, wrapping the day in live music, lawn chairs, and plenty of smiles.

Why It Works

  • Simple + walkable: a mapped stroll through Downtown Griffin’s core.
  • Family-friendly and free to attend: part of the city’s recurring 2nd Saturday programming.
  • Business booster: specials and tastings that bring shoppers into local stores.
